Location

 

The lessons are taught from my home music room in Old Basing, Basingstoke and pupils visit me from various areas of Basingstoke as well as surrounding areas such as Hook, Odiham, Hartley Wintney, Rotherwick, BramleyTadley and Sherborne Saint John. My teaching room is a comfortable, well equipped and professional space for lessons.

I love sharing my passion for music with my pupils each day and seeing them progress and achieve their goals, which can vary from simply playing for their own enjoyment to performing in bands and with other musicians.

 

  • 100% pupil pass rate for RGT & Rockschool Exams - 482 distinctions, 265 merits and 25 passes, which includes a variety of levels up to Grade 8.

30 minutes - £19

45 minutes - £28.50

60 minutes - £37

 

These costs are for one-to-one tuition  and are in accordance with the local market and recommended rates for professional tutors.

 

Lessons in small groups (£10.50 each in a pair or £8 each in a group of 3) are also available and a popular way of sharing the cost of tuition and for family or friends to enjoy learning together.  

Content

 

Many of my students come to me with little or no playing experience. I have also helped more experienced guitarists looking to develop their technique or broaden their musical horizons. All are welcome and tuition is tailored to suit the preferences, learning style and experience of each individual.

 

  • Mixture of musical styles can be covered including rock, pop, blues, metal, jazz, classical, folk, country and world music.

  • Learn your favourite songs and discover new music in a relaxed but professional setting.

 

  • Optional study towards Registry of Guitar Tutors/London College of Music examinations to provide additional short and long term goals.

 

  • Popular and classical music theory.

 

  • Songwriting/composition study and assistance.

 

  • Preparation for performances .

 

  • Guidance for GCSE and A level performance preparation as well as for auditions and higher education music course applications.​

 

Availability

Lessons are taught on weekdays with most taking place in the afternoon or evenings. I do occasionally have some daytime availability as well.
